It is so important for struggling students to receive extra support at home. It's not likely that every parent has the time, patience, or knowledge to support their children at home. One way to engage your student in learning at home is through fun online games. Here are five that I have used and recommend.
1. Brainzy (Education.com)
I have been subscribed to education.com for 3 years now. I am able to provide my students with access to unlimited educational games within their grade level to support their learning from home. This is a program that I Love and will continue to use; so if your child is in my class, just know this is paid for by me so that your child can access at home for free. If you're a teacher, I highly recommend subscribing! You will be able to monitor your student's growth and keep track of who is logging in and using the program. The subscription also gives you access to worksheets for ELA and Math skills. I personally like the independent study packets for when a student will be absent for more than 3 days.

2. Splash Learn
This platform has changed over the years, but is still another favorite of mine. Teachers are able to create a free classroom account, so your child should be able to access this at home for free if they're in my class/ their teacher creates an account. They not only have games, but really fun worksheets that fit the curriculum.
3. ABCYa
ABCYa is a free website that offers MANY games for ELA, Math, and most recently Science Standards!
4. Funbrain
Funbrain has some really neat games, but they're not all educational. They have a Math Zone section where all the games in this section are educational. They also have a Reading Section with some digital books for your child. They have other games that support other areas of learning, but you really have to go through their search engine and sort through a few to find some that are age appropriate for kindergarten. I've been told by parents that they like using this site like a youtube for their kids. The videos and games on Funbrain are appropriate for children.
5. IXL Learning
This platform reminds me of taking quizzes. This is not a free site. They offer 'limited' practice, but if you subscribe, you are given unlimited practice on any standard skill for any grade.
